Open studio and Special Events
Our studio is fully equipped with ten potter's wheels, a slab roller, extruder, basic tools, three kilns, and a variety of cone 6 glazes. Our store sells a large variety of clay, glazes, tools, and raw materials to suit all of your studio needs.
Open Studio
Our studio is available for use during Open Studio hours. Open Studio hours vary with our class schedule, but are typically Mon, Tues, Wed, and Friday 9 - 5, Thurs. 12 - 5 and Sat 11-3. Please call 859-389-9681 for current availability. Open Studio is self -guided work time for students or experienced clay users who can take advantage of our facility without the presence of a teacher. Clay and firing are not included in Open Studio time, but can be purchased separately at our store.

1 hour: $7
8 hours: $40
20 hours: $65
Monthly Unlimited: $100
Events & Parties
Our studio can acommodate group events for scouts, corporate team building, home schooling, and birthday parties. Kentucky Mudworks does not provide any catering, but can provide a place for food and drink at your event. Add 30 minutes and a $10 fee for events with food.
Packages:
Wheelthrowing Basic
$15 per person (5 person minimum, 10 person maximum)
Includes 2 hours of wheelthrowing instruction, studio rental, and clay. One unfired piece will be taken home with each person.
Wheelthrowing Deluxe
$25 per person (5 person minimum, 10 person maximum)
Includes 2 hours of wheelthrowing instruction, studio rental, clay, glaze, and firing. One piece per person will be glazed, fired, and available for pick up two weeks after your event.
Handbuilding Basic
$15 per person (5 person minimum, 20 person maximum)
Includes 2 hours of instruction w/ one clay project and underglaze painting, studio rental, and clay. One unfired piece will be taken home with each person.
Handbuilding Deluxe
$25 per person (5 person minimum, 20 person maximum)
Includes 2 hours of instruction w/ one clay project and underglaze painting, studio rental, and clay, glaze, and firing. One piece per person will be glazed, fired, and available for pick up two weeks after your event.
Wheelthrowing & Handbuilding Basic

Private Lessons
Private lessons are available for students who want to learn clay techniques one on one, or whose schedules don't allow them to enroll in a class.
Rates:
$50 / hour
Includes instruction, clay, tools, and firing.
Pieces are available for pick up two weeks after your session.
