Description: Community ^6 Soda Firing *New for 2012*
Soda firing creates orange peel texture, flashes of color on slips and glaze, and an unpredictable surface that is unique to atmospheric firing. We will be offering space in our new soda kiln to allow the community to take advantage of this method of firing.
Here's how it works:
All pieces must be made of cone 6 clay. Firing includes use of our studio glazes and slips, or you can use your own. Kiln space may be purchased by the kiln shelf ($50 for 12"x24"x7") or by the cubic inch ($.08 per cubic inch). Pieces must be dropped off and wadded (we'll provide the wadding and the glue and can even show you how to put it on!) by the designated drop-off date. You may attend the loading/firing/unloading if it is convenient for you, but it is a long process, and we are more than willing to take care of it!

Drop-off deadline: April 16
Drop-off deadline: June 7

Drop-off deadline: Oct. 29
Firing will typically be the Thursday after drop off, and unloading the following Monday.
